About TXPCA

Who We Are

The TXPCA is a decentralized collaborative network of conservation professionals working with native Texas plant species. Our members work together to share resources and expertise on species-based projects.

Intended members of the TXPCA are:

  • Botanical Gardens 

  • Nonprofits specializing in environmental protection

  • Restorative ecological consultants 

  • State and Federal Agencies 

  • Universities and other research institutions

  • Nursery professionals/conservation horticulturalists

  • Volunteer organization leadership

The TXPCA is only open to conservation professionals, due to the sensitive nature of working with rare plant populations.

Join Us

Guidelines:

The TXPCA listserv intends to facilitate open discussion regarding the conservation of native Texas plants.

Appropriate topics are related but not limited to:

  • Conference announcements

  • Requests for assistance on projects, including but not limited to seed collection, plant rescues, relocations, and grow-outs for restoration projects

  • Requests for knowledge and expertise

  • General discussion and reflections on plant conservation in Texas

  • Job postings 

  • Project results

Sensitive data including population coordinates, landowner names, and property names will not be permitted on the listserv and will be removed by the moderator if posted. TXPCA expects all members to exhibit professional decorum and will not tolerate demeaning or dismissive language.
